Program Manager – Anglican Prevention of Violence Against Women Program

The Anglican Diocese of Melbourne is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion and incorporates all of greater Melbourne and Geelong. The Diocese includes a diverse and vibrant community of parishes and other ministries that cater to a variety of expressions of the Anglican tradition of the Christian faith.

About the Role

We are seeking a Program Manager to lead the implementation of the second edition of the Diocesan Strategic Policy for the Prevention of Violence Against Women.

As the Program Manager, you will work with Parish Partnerships and the A-PVAW Committee of Management to operationalize the actions developed under the strategic policy. Your responsibilities will include policy development, awareness raising, resource development, capacity building within the Diocesan leadership team, and liaising with Anglican schools, agencies and other organisations.

The Parish Partnerships (PP) team of the Diocese works to encourage and support partnerships between parishes and other community organisations in order to strengthen parish and community engagement.  The Prevention of Violence Against Women project was seeded by the Social Responsibilities Committee (SRC) of the Diocese in 2012, and together PP and SRC are increasing their partnership in parish/community engagement around social issues.

The role is a full time fixed term contract for three years subject to continued funding.

About You

With a background in program design, policy development and implementation, you will bring demonstrated understanding of the policy and service delivery environment coupled with strengths in engaging, communicating and positively managing relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

A strong understanding of and a commitment to preventing violence against women will be key to your success in this role with an understanding of the workings of the Anglican Church or other faith-based groups beneficial but not essential.

It is likely you will hold Tertiary qualifications in health promotion, social or political science, gender studies, theology, community development or other area of relevance.

To apply, please send your CV and cover letter to The Venerable Jan Crombie, Parish Partnerships at [email protected] or for a confidential discussion, contact her on +61 439 222 112.
